I am having the same issue with Fallout New Vegas (except it crashes right after playing the intro where we are introduced to the faction and getting shot). When I launch the game it works good straight out the box, however when I try to run a new game or load a save from the game I played 10 years ago it crashes.
Few days ago I decided to refresh the memories and purchased the GOG version.
I've played F3 long time ago on PC that was Windows 7.
